*Please note*: You are responsible for payment at the time of service. Unless iProgress Counseling and Consulting, LLC is contracted with your insurance company or third party payer source no claims will be billed from the practice.
Full payment is due at the time of service. A superbill will be provided with all appropriate documentation for you to submit to your insurance or third party payer for reimbursement.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is a form you are provided by a psychotherapist that you can turn into your insurance company to get reimbursed for the service provided to you by iProgress Counseling and Consulting, LLC. Most clients are familiar with the process at their medical doctor’s office where the staff bill the insurance company for the service provided. Typically, the client pays nothing, a co-pay or a small percentage of the cost of the service depending on the specifics of the insurance policy. The doctor’s office is then reimbursed by the insurance company.
Why is a superbill used instead of the more familiar billing/reimbursement practice used in doctor’s offices?
iProgress Counseling and Consulting, LLC has thought about every detail of our business before deciding to open our own practice. We have researched learning how to facilitate the billing in-house, reviewed sophisticated billing software packages, and considered hiring a professional dedicated to ensuring the proper billing for all my business services. After much deliberation, we concluded that our time is best spent focusing on our clients. In addition, we want to provide quality service including 60-minutes of uninterrupted psychotherapy for our clients. Therefore, we want to maximize the amount of time spent focusing on our clients which is more important to us. Thus, it is more cost effective and client-centered to use a superbill rather than traditional billing practices.
*Please note*: Even though your insurance company may be listed it does not necessarily mean that your services are covered. Please check your specific plan for details should you have any questions. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:
- Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician?
- Is there a co-pay expected during time of visit?
Cash, debit/credit card, and personal check accepted for payment.
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the session.
